Audience is defined as the readership of a book, magazine, or newspaper. The audience plays a huge role in the making of a magazine as it helps determine what you should include in it. In this blog post, I will be analyzing target audiences and who I think my audience would be to get a better understanding of the type of people my magazine would be of most interest to.

Age: This cover attracts people between the age of 8-23 because I believe young kids would be fascinated by the face of the fierce animal and older individuals would simply want to learn more about animals
Gender: This cover leans toward a male audience due to it being a fierce animal with dark colors.
Main Image: The main image is a black panther with a bold look which would attract young males who are generally more interested in wild animals than females. The image also goes over the bottom portion of the cover, showing that it is in front which makes it stand out and shows that it is the focus of the page.
Psychographics: The target audience would be males who are interested in animals and wildlife and would want to learn or see more of them.
Color Scheme: The color scheme is black and white with a touch of green in the panther's eyes. The black represents a sense of strength and boldness while the green eyes are something that sticks out to the viewer and draws their attention.

Age: This cover attracts people between the age of 25-36 because people of that age would be more interested in learning about their pets compared to younger people.
Gender: This magazine can attract any gender as it doesn't have any gender-specific colors or any stereotypical signals for any gender.
Main Image: The main image is a close shot of a dog's face that goes with the coverline, which explains that the magazine will be about what's going on in animals' heads.
Psychographics: The target audience would be people who have pets or are interested in animals so they can know what and how animals are feeling to get to understand them better.
Color Scheme: The color scheme is mostly white and brown with an orangey-red background that puts the dog in the foreground of the picture. These colors are neutral and calm and don't give off any underlying feelings or messages.
Based on my observations of how certain images and colors can appeal to certain people of different demographics and psychographics, I intend to choose my target audience by taking into consideration who I believe would be most attracted to my images and the undertone they give off along with the message I want to spread. Due to this, my target audience would be people that care about animal rights and the environment around the age of 26-38 as they would be more likely to dedicate their time to the cause I want to advocate for, which is about struggles that animals go through, the destruction of their habitats, and what can be done to help. I feel they would be attracted to my images because the images will resonate with them as it shows animals that could be in need.

Doing this analysis of target audiences and using it to make my audience profile has taught me a lot about how businesses market their products and has made me realize how important it is for companies. It also helped me prepare and come up with more ideas for my magazine as I have learned new ways I can get the attention of a specific group of people that I want to focus on.
