Over the past two genre photoshoots, I've learned a lot about different types of shots, techniques I can use, and what I enjoy the most and think will turn out the best. During my experience, I've been able to practice selecting subjects that I think will look good and how to manipulate them to achieve photos I'm proud of. I did this for my interior design photoshoot in more simple and practical ways, such as cropping images and fixing angles in the shot to make sure lines are straight and things of that nature. For my second piece about nature and animals, I had more fun editing my photos and felt that I had more freedom and artistic liberty. For this reason, I want my genre to be nature and animals as I enjoyed taking the photos and how they turned out with the editing skills I learned. I'm excited to venture deeper into this field and genre and although I do think it would have been nice to try other genres and see if I enjoy them, just as much or even more, as well as learn new things while doing them I am happy to have found something I really like and have found a new appreciation for. For my magazine piece, I am planning to have the pictures all have the same aesthetic and have a common theme that makes my magazine unique when compared to others as it will have its very own look and feel. I plan to have the magazine focus on the mistreatment and endangerment of animals and be a representation of the prevalent issue that can help educate, advocate against, and bring awareness to the problem. I hope to get my message across with my writing and photography and that it is something I am proud of and will be happy to share with others and spread to a wider audience.
